Why Track SaaS Metrics Monthly?

Most SaaS founders only look at their metrics when something goes wrong — a churn spike, a missed growth target, or an investor question. But by then, the trend has already formed. Monthly tracking catches problems early and lets you course-correct before they compound.

The Six Metrics That Matter

How Benchmark Comparison Works

Each calculated metric is compared against industry percentile ranges derived from 2025-2026 SaaS benchmark reports. You'll see whether your metric is in the top quartile (green), around median (yellow), or below median (red). This isn't a grade — it's a signal to investigate further.

For example, if your LTV:CAC is 2.1x and the benchmark median is 4.1x, that doesn't mean you're failing. It means you should look at whether your CAC is too high, your churn is too high, or your pricing is too low. Each benchmark card links to the full benchmark report for deeper context.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is this different from ChartMogul or Baremetrics?
ChartMogul and Baremetrics require connecting your Stripe or billing account. This tool is 100% manual input — you type in your numbers, and everything stays in your browser via localStorage. No account, no data sharing, no integration needed. It's designed for bootstrapped founders who want a quick monthly benchmark without setting up analytics infrastructure.
Where does the benchmark data come from?
Benchmark percentiles are derived from publicly available 2025-2026 SaaS industry reports including Aleph x Benchmarkit (342 companies, CY-2025 actuals), High Alpha (800+ companies), and SaaS Capital (1,000+ companies). These are secondary summaries, not original research. Median values: NRR 102%, GRR 84%, LTV:CAC 4.1x, CAC payback 16 months, MRR growth 20%.
Is my company data stored on your server?
No. All data is stored locally in your browser using localStorage. Nothing is sent to any server. You can verify this by opening DevTools and checking the Network tab — no requests are made when you enter or save data. Clearing your browser data will delete your saved records.
What metrics does this tool calculate?
The tool calculates six core SaaS metrics: Monthly Gross Churn Rate, Net Revenue Retention (NRR), MRR Growth Rate, LTV:CAC Ratio, CAC Payback Period, and Rule of 40 score. Each metric is compared against industry benchmark percentiles. Historical monthly records are saved to build trend charts over time.
Can I track multiple companies or products?
Yes. You can create multiple profiles (e.g., one per product or company), and each profile maintains its own independent monthly history. Profiles are stored locally in your browser and can be renamed or deleted at any time.
